Welcome to the Union Hill School District Budget Update Page

This page has been created in order to keep our community informed of the latest budget developments and board actions in response to the fiscal crisis California is facing. Based upon the proposed state budget we are going to be facing severe revenue decreases over the next 18 months. In light of this we have begun to construct tentative funding reductions in preparation to comply with state timelines. It is important to the district leadership that we involve our stakeholders in this process. To help facilitate we began by conducting a community forum on January 22nd to solicit input from our various stakeholder groups. Based upon this feedback the district leadership will begin to develop proposals for reductions. These proposals will be presented to the governing board at their regular scheduled board meetings throughout the remainder of the school year. School community members, students, parents, and staff are encouraged to attend.

The next 18 months will be some of the most challenging we have ever had to face in our district. Every effort will be made to keep you informed and solicit your input on how we can overcome the obstacles before us. Maintaining our high academic standards, serving the needs of all children, and minimizing the impact on job reductions will be our major goals. Working together we can and will find the best way to overcome these challenges.

The following links will take you to information, updates, and resources regarding the budget crisis. As additional information becomes available, this page will be updated.
